Formed 1986 as Royal Scot Star by Kenny Ronaldson and a few of his mates that drank in the Royal Scot.

First few seasons we played our home games at Ratho, in the Maybury League. The club had 2 strips. Home was light blue tops and away was black and red stripes. There was no manager at that time a committee of around 4 players picked the team.

After winning a couple of promotions but no actual league titles, we decided to move over to the Edinburgh Amateur League.  We changed strip and name a couple of times over the next few years to suit sponsors. We moved our home park to Duddingston and in 1996 decided to rename the club Duddingston Athletic.  A decision primarily based on location and a club member who wanted the club to have the same initials as his favourite team Dunfermline Athletic.

Unfortunately the club has never won anything. Closest we've come to a trophy was the League Cup Final in 1998/99 where we lost 2 -1 to a last second goal. To the club this game will always be remembered as "Chunky's Last Minute Miss".  In 2002 Gary Buglass gave up the manager's role to concentrate on moving hemispheres to Australia.  At the same time the club suffered its worst season ever and found themselves relegated into 2nd division. The first time we had ever been relegated in our history.

For the 2005 / 2006 season we have moved to the E.D.S.A.F.A. Fair Play League.

This new league has received approval from the Scottish Amateur FA and is part of the ongoing move being conducted throughout football to bring back the enjoyment and desire of playing football in an acceptable manner to the Sunday amateur level.
